During the day this camera rocks. If you have well lit area and a defined distance to what you want to capture, this is a great camera. For outdoors you need to consider a well light night location, or that you only want to capture day video.
This is a pretty smart camera. If you are running its video to a recorder it can do more for you, but if you have a smart recording system (like zoneminder) its a lot of great capabilities that you most likely will not use.
To note the power connectors on the back are not polarized, AC or DC will power it, but either plus or negative will connect to either post. The ground on the camera is not for power ground or negative, its for a common ground to connect to the housing.
