Great Capture CardBy Nicknames are fun from Los Angeles, CA, on 05/15/2012
Product Review Comment : This card went into a system with an Athlon X2 4200+ and 3GB of RAM. It's hooked up to three cameras running 640x480 at 30fps. The system is using Ubuntu 12.04 and Zoneminder. CPU load is 1.5-1.8 when set to record. This card is plug-and-play with newer Ubuntu releases.

Just what I needed for my vacation HomeBy sthughes from Euless, TX , on 11/19/2011
Product Review Comment : This is just what I have been needing. Since I started using open DVR software, I have been looking for a way to use same with my bnc cameras that were connected to a card using proprietary drivers and were thus not available for use by the open DVR software. This allows me to use these hardwired cameras along with USB cameras and IP cameras all showing on the same DVR screen. I no longer have to run two different programs.
Service/Delivery Review Comment : Fast Delivery!

Perfect !By Jody the IT guy from Ontario, Canada, on 09/07/2011
Product Review Comment : I have two lorx cameras on a BluIris Security Software package and needed a capture card that allowed me to capture 2 feeds at once. This card does it perfectly and will actually record 4 at once. I popped it in the PCI slot, fired up windows, put the CD in and when Windows XP SP3 noticed the new hardware it asked for drivers. I pointed that to the CD and it was happy. Did that 8 times 4 for video and 4 for audio side. 4 because of the separate chips / inputs.

Works well with WirecastBy DynamoBen from WI, on 06/20/2011
Product Review Comment : This card works well with Wirecast, provides 4 uncompressed SD inputs into the software.

Works great!By Jeffcams from USA, on 02/24/2011
Product Review Comment : This card works flawlessly on both my amd and intel based XP 32bit systems. When recording 4 cameras @ 7.5fps and 640x480 my pentium4 3ghz stays around 75%cpu. Soon i will be moving this to my quad core system which has a video card and i have no doubt it will handle 30fps from each camera. Only gripe i would have was it was a little hard to figure out how to install the drivers for the pv149 on XP. Maybe add a detailed readme to the pv149 driver folder to give steps on the installation. Im sure more expierenced windows users wouldnt have a problem :) Also use the RGB input that is farthest away from the motherboard on the card for your camera input. Overall its a great product!

Great product for the priceBy John from Atlanta, on 09/28/2010
Product Review Comment : Installs easily w/ the provided drivers on both Win XP (32bit) and Win 7 (64bit). Works perfectly with BlueIris software. I've wasted time and $ on cheaper cards that didn't work well (or at all)... this one works exactly as described. Even w/o the hardware encoding of the more expensive cards, my PC easily handles 4 analog chanels on this card and 2 usb cameras all at the same time @ 30fps. The PC is a dual core Athlon 2, 2GB, onboard ATI graphics and a single SATA drive.

User Friendly Capture CardBy Gumbie from Australia, on 06/15/2010
Product Review Comment : We were looking for a CCTV card with driver and finally found the ideal product with the PV149. The cables and RCA connections were the flexibility we were seeking for to install wireless and standard CCTV installations. Products from Asian sources were not as good as the PV149. The PV149 is ideally suited to our software.

Cannot install card driversBy Brianj from Indiana, on 05/31/2010
Product Review Comment : I have spent hours with all methods to install drivers on 2 different computers and 2 different operating systems XP and w-7. Neither recognizes drivers and fails to install. I have had little support my last email was ignored.

Works great with xawtv / ubuntuBy xawtv-s1 from Maryland, on 05/24/2010
Product Review Comment : Have been using these cards for video capture for about an year now. We use xawtv, streamer in Ubuntu 9.10 to capture video from 4 bullet cameras. A word of caution though: a recent upgrade from 9.10 to 10.04 caused somehow to capture video from only one (random) camera out of four. We narrowed it down to a kernel update from 2.6.31-14 to 2.6.31-21. Not sure if it will work in further upgrades but have stopped updates for now.

Works perfectly with Linux and MotionBy LKO from Georgia, USA, on 04/24/2010
Product Review Comment : This is my second PV-149, both of which are used in a home-grown security setup using Linux and Motion 3.2.11. Installed card, Linux recognized it; all I had to do is configure Motion to use the new video sources. Only con -- and it's not the card's fault -- was my old system could not handle the load of 8 cameras, so I had to move the second card to another system.

Experience with PV-149By Olli from Germany, on 04/01/2010
Product Review Comment : Great video card! I use this card with ubuntu 9.10amd64 and zoneminder 1.24.2. Very easy to install because ubunut recognize the card automatically. So there's nothing to do :-))

Wonderfull capture cardBy Laurent from Europe (south of France), on 01/26/2010
Product Review Comment : High quality video capture card. Does exactly what I expected (four simultaneous video capture stream). I just plugged the PV-149 on my TYAN Tomcat AMD-K8E motherboard and everything worked fine. The card was immediately recognized by linux kernel 2.6.31-17 bttv driver. I strongly recommend this product to everyone planning to make video surveillance with a Linux box.

Does not work on ASUS A8VBy Al from San Antonio, TX, on 01/13/2010
Product Review Comment : Just received this card today and plugged into my ASUS A8V motherboard with AMD Athlon 64 CPU and computer would not boot (hangs just after memory test). Took card out, computer boots fine. Tried other PCI slot, re-seated, and removed all cards execpt PV-149 but computer still hangs. Card works on MSI motherboard with AMD64 however. What gives? Beware of compatibility issues!

Great ProductBy M1 Interactive from Chicago, IL, on 01/08/2010
Product Review Comment : We needed a fast video digitizer card for a motion tracking application we were building, after trying 4 other cards that we thought would work based on the specs-this was the only actual performer. The drivers are rock solid and work great with our custom applications with ease. My only issue was the installation process is a bit slow due to having to manually install 8 separate drivers separately. But it is worth it.

Great Capture CardBy insik from Oxnard, CA, on 01/05/2010
Product Review Comment : I ordered this for a Zoneminder installation in Debian Lenny. Automatic detection after installation of hardware. Driver is loaded automatically. The frame rate is great. Only used 1 channel at 30fps currently. I cannot wait to fully equip this card. I was thinking first of getting the PV-143 but opted for the PV-149 instead. I am happy with this product. Now, I just need to get a better camera.

Plug & Play with Bluecherry ZM LiveCD!!!By bobthebuilder from Canada, on 11/07/2009
Product Review Comment : I researched extensively for a 4 Channel 120FPS DVR card to work well as an upgrade from a cheap pico card in my P4 2.8GHz Zoneminder security camera PC. Everything indicated the PV-149 from Bluecherry was the card to get and I was not disappointed. Plugged in and worked perfectly with the Xubuntu - ZM 1.24 LiveCD from Curtis. I will be doing a full install when time allows, probably try Ubuntu 9.10 & ZM 1.24.2. Will be considering a second of these cards if I can't afford IP cameras when I add onto my system. Thanks Curtis and Bluecherry! Rob from Canada.

Delivers what you're looking for.By JonRam from Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur, MX, on 11/03/2009
Product Review Comment : To be honest, I was expecting a little fight from this card and it was so easy that I couldn't believe it. There I was checking kernel modules and server logs to find a problem and nothing, everything was fine, no need to re-compile kernels or install drivers, all modules loaded as if nothing changed. Although I was working with Fedora Linux (F11), I admit. I set up and fired up Zoneminder to its full potential in 2 hours. Tip of the hat to Bluecherry for this product.

Paranormal Research Group loves PV-149By The Supernatural Research Group from Berks County, PA, on 10/10/2009
Product Review Comment : We are a paranormal research group and we needed a solution that would meet our requirements. I was concerned about using this device, but those concerns were quickly put to rest once I installed the card. We are using the PV-149 in a P4 2.4 GHz Dell with 1 GB of RAM running Windows XP. I can connect four cameras and configure them for 30 FPS each at the highest resolution and the system never skips a beat. We did purchase a copy of Blue Iris for our setup and love it.[@]

Excellent for use in a linux serverBy Maarten from Utrecht, Holland, on 09/08/2009
Product Review Comment : I was using a windows system before and switched to linux. My old hardware wasn't supported. This capture card worked without any problems with zoneminder.

Love this card - Works as describedBy andrew from Kentville, Nova Scotia, on 08/08/2009
Product Review Comment : Popped in the card, installed the drivers and bingo, it worked. I have been looking for a card to use with directshow software and ended up purchasing 4 cards before this one. The description of this card working with directshow was spot on. This was the least expensive direct show card I found that worked and I search for a year. Finally my problem is solved.

Works well as a webcasting input as wellBy M@ikel Gloudemans from Waalwijk, Noord Brabant Netherlands, on 09/08/2008
Product Review Comment : This card is right on the money for my webcasting multi camera webcasts. while broadcasting from 2 inputs , saving video from the two others worked like a charm. The only thing limiting my resolution was processing power and upload bandwidth of my mobile connection to the net.. I'm glad I bought it , I solved all my broadcasting problems. M@ik

No complaintsBy Anonymous from TN United States, on 05/31/2008
Product Review Comment : I bought this card for use with Zoneminder on Fedora 8. It was immediately recognized by the native kernel drivers, and worked perfectly the first time. I can easily capture 25+ fps with 4 cameras on a dual core Athlon-64 at 720x480. I was encouraged by the reviews touting Bluecherry support, but had no need for it. I plan to buy another one for my second remote box when they are back in stock.

Product Review Comment : There is a watchdog program to make dvr based linux

ZoneMinder BugBy Sergey Karpenko from New York, NY United States, on 04/09/2009
Product Review Comment : The card it self is great. Although Zoneminder Live CD that was provided comes with a bug.

Nice card for the moneyBy Alfred from Parksville, BC Canada, on 01/27/2009
Product Review Comment : Good price, fast shipping, friendly support when I called with a question, and the card worked perfectly in our Linux/Zoneminder computer. We are very pleased and will be buying a couple more of these cards for our other locations.

PV-149By Thomas from Lexington, SC, on 12/30/2008
Product Review Comment : Works right of the box with CentOS 5.2 and ZoneMinder.

PV-149By Michael Mallon from Undisclosed, on 10/01/2006
Product Review Comment : This card works well with the Zoneminder software under linux. Any setup troubles that we have had have been dealt with very quickly by the Bluecherry support staff. It's nice to deal with a hardware supplier that doesn't say "linux? What's that?".

Works with VISEC!By Anonymous from Eastern Shore of VA, United States, on 08/17/2007
Product Review Comment : I bought this card hoping it would work with VISEC software for windows. VISEC sells a capture card for $299, and are tight-lipped about compatibility with other cards. The first machine I installed this on kept rebooting. This isn't the fault of the card, since it works in my second computer perfectly. (The first machine is full of bells and whistles...I think it was a drain on my power supply that caused the reboots) I was a little disappointed that the size of the image was 320x240, but then again I was using a regular video capture card (designed for digital video production). I'm currently only using 2/4 of the input ports without any problem.

PV-149By David Clarke from Wellington, Wellington New Zealand, on 12/09/2006
Product Review Comment : Card works just fine with ZoneMinder under Suse 10.1. Prompt shipping at a good price and goods well packed.

PV-149By Giovanni Salazar from Undisclosed, on 10/01/2006
Product Review Comment : I first would like to say THANK YOU!!! We are doing some stuff with this card that is unbelievable. We are currently capturing full screen 1024x768 at 720x480 and this card is pulling it off. This card is DirectX9 compatible and can be used for capturing and streaming windows media stuff. We have tested with Windows Media 9 and there does not seem to be any problems. NOTE: You may have to get your hands on better drivers or write your own.(we may write our own). I appreciate all you've done.

PV-149By Chris Jolly from US, on 10/01/2006
Product Review Comment : This card works perfectly. Install was simple and integrated with no problems under my Linux install. Great card for a great price!

PV-149By Sergio Delgado from US, on 10/01/2006
Product Review Comment : Bought 2 PV-149p for use in a ZM system. Both cards work great using mandrake 10.1. Had some trouble getting them running but I was not alone in the process, bluecherry was right there ready to answer any question I had. I cannot stress enough how good the service was.

PV-149By Alan Powell from US, on 10/01/2006
Product Review Comment : The card: I've had this card for a couple of weeks and I am pretty happy with it. I have tried it under Fedora Core 3 and Windows XP. Installing it under Fedora was fairly straight forward. The documentation that came with the card only references windows, but it wasn't too difficult to get working. The card was automatically recognized; all I had to do was add the right modules to modules.conf and I got all four channels working under xatvw. Getting the card to work under XP was actually more time consuming, even though the documentation was Windows specific. The docs inferred that XP would recognize the new card and that the Hardware Detection Wizard would suggest the use install the PV-149P drivers. Unfortunately there are about 15 models represented on the disk, none of which are the 149P. I ended up manually installing the PV149 drivers and eventually got everything working, but it but it took some effort. Once the drivers were installed, however, I found several Webcam packages that worked with MS DirectShow and could display images from all 4 channels. The bottom line is that I think that the card is a bargain but that the driver disk and docs need to be updated. Bluecherry and Pricing: I have never ordered through Bluecherry before but I am happy with the results. I searched for DVR cards via google and Bluecherry had the best pricing I could find (I actually stumbled across them via a reference at the Zoneminder web site). I ordered the card in the middle of Holiday weekend. I got an mail the next day indicating the card was ready to ship and it was on the next business day. I got it later that week.

PV-149By Brooke Sizemore from Undisclosed, on 10/01/2006
Product Review Comment : I was looking for a capture card that would work with 4 separate 30fps channels that would work in Linux, and this fit the bill perfectly. Worked right out of the box with bt848/878 kernel support.

Works in BlueIris perfectBy Stickman from Iowa, on 07/17/2009
Product Review Comment : Installed as per instructions and performs as advertised. I have tried many dvr cards with bad results...NOT this one...very happy with the captures and quality. I am using 3 bullet cams on it currently. The only thing I found as a con and it is minor, but on my 4-port dongle that came with the card, the plugs were marked wrong...kind of threw me a curve for awile. Also you MUST save the proc-amp profile again in BlueIris after you get it set right. You will not be disappointed with this card !

PV-149 - 4 port video capture cardBy Greg from Queensland, Australia, on 06/16/2009
Product Review Comment : I've only tried this product with cheap cctv cameras up to date, but am very happy with the pictures it takes, and the ease of setup, first I tried it with the supplied free software, installed it to the hard drive, but it kept crashing apache after a few hours. Installed Slackware 12.1, and Motion, card was recognised by the software, and i had it working within minutes, on an old P4, 3GHz, with 512M ram

Great CardBy Microadv from Cleveland, OH, on 06/14/2009
Product Review Comment : Used this card in a spare HP Workstation for surveillance at our office building. Works great, but had some difficulty configuring with the bluecherry zmlive cd. Eventually got everything running off the ZMLarch live cd. This card replaced a garbage [...] 4 channel capture card. Very impressed with bluecherry and will not waste my $$ again on [...].

A Fantastic Video Capture CardBy Bob from Merritt Island, Florida, on 06/11/2009
Product Review Comment : Assembled new Intel Dual Core Chip with 4 Gigs and 650 Gig Hard Drive running Ubuntu and ZoneMinder. Went on vacation and was able to check the property from 3,000 miles away! Have 4 cameras monitoring 24/7 at 30 FPS on each camera. Software is set to discriminate so it doesn't fill the hard drive.
